Welcome Jack!

Thanks to Rick and Steph for giving us permission to have a dog in their house.  Stan has been DYING to have a dog ever since we got married, and after he got permission from Rick, I just couldn't say no to him anymore!  So, off we went to McKee's pet store to find us "a puppy, a puppy!" as Sammy says for a be-lated birthday present for Stan.

We got to the store and Jack was the first pup we looked at.  He got out of his crate and trotted right over to us!  He was very calm and gentle.  He won us over right away!  I mean, how can you not love this little face???

Jack is a purebred Cocker Spaniel, and he's four months old.  He's really smart.  He is really good about coming when you call and walking on his leash.  He's also really gentle with Sammy.  He doesn't bite at all and doesn't lick too much!  :)  We are working on not jumping up and on potty training, which he is really getting the hang of pretty quick!

The little back/side yard with the tall fence is just perfect for him.  He loves it out there!  We call it Jack's room.

Welcome to the family, little Jack puppy!

Kitchen Makeover and More!

Most of you here in Idaho have seen the kitchen "makeover" here on Walnut Street, so this is for our dear family in New Mexico!  We are taking really good care of your house!

Didn't the cabinets turn out awesome?  Stan did the painting.  I did the glaze and varnish!  Oh, and the purple cabinet . . . isn't it divine???  It inspired the accent color for the kitchen, and it fits in the fridge nook so perfectly!  Thank you Ikea!

Look!  The stove just blends right in!

Here's a close up of the wallpaper that we painted to match everything!

We still have some work to do on the kitchen, but it's all coming together!  Here are the kitchen knobs we are going to order, just as soon as they come in stock:  http://www.dlawlesshardware.com/crysacdiamcu1.html  I picked these because the brass base will match the hinges and the acrylic knobs will match the Victorian feel of the back splash!

Here's the dining room . . . paint compliments of Walmart's mismatched paint shelf--Stan picked it out and it looks so good!  No more ugly red wall!!!

We just barely finished painting the living room . . . I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but the color is a shade darker and a little more blue than the dining room.

No more icky guacamole green!

More to come!

MONO IS NO FUN!, but chess is!

Logan has been diagnosed with mono, It is not great. He has had a fever and no energy. He is in a lot of pain, but with a little Motrin he was feeling a bit like playing chess. Mostly he is sleeping, we are so grateful for our Logan and his fun personality.

Popcorn popping on the apricot tree.

The trees are looking fabulous here. Spring has hit Los Alamos, and we are loving it.

Pyro Mania!

Where to begin....our quad mates bought a fire pit, and it seems that we will have the authorities called on us every time. The first weekend we all fired it up, the cops came to make sure we were being good. The second time we fired it up the fire engine came. Once again they noticed that we had a water hose 6 feet away, and the fire pit was in a gravel area also the fire was bitty. We had a great time into the night.
